BC Hydro PRES Transmission Line Clearing and Access
BC Hydro, as part of its expanding transmission line network in Northern BC, needed a contractor that not only delivered clearing services but could construct access and crane pads to support the construction of a 70+km transmission line to Groundbirch, BC through rolling hills, river valleys, and wet ground. EM3 Services assembled and led a multi-disciplinary clearing and civil construction team during 15 months to successfully deliver this project to BC Hydro and meet their detailed specifications.
The schedule for this project was demanding, so EM3 carefully coordinated the work between team members to ensure great production done safely. BC Hydro got a transmission line project ready in time for their powerline installation contractor to commence their work on schedule. This project also demonstrated how mulch is highly effective as an erosion and sediment control measure.
