Coastal GasLink Pipeline

To help keep the project on schedule for pipeline construction, Coastal GasLink’s prime contractors for Sections 2, 3, and 4 needed 180 hectares of clearing and grubbing performed within a single winter season. This challenging terrain crossed the Rocky Mountains range from the South Peace Region to near Summit Lake, BC. Terrain and tree cover varied throughout, and snow cover was expected to grow to depths of several meters by late winter.

To handle the size and variety of this project, EM3 put together a team of 12 mulchers led by our IronWolfs and supported by our mobile repair shop and mechanical staff. The job required intense coordination with the logging contractors to maintain safe separation while keeping production high. The team completed the work just as snow cover reached working depth limits, making the site ready for soil stripping and grading by the pipeline contractors.
